#committed
Prior to April 12, interest from D1 & D2 colleges to play soccer
April 12, tears her ACL, MCL & meniscus
May 11, surgery
Offer from one college, others kind of went quiet, some said let us know when you are healed up.
If you don’t know about this injury it is a VERY LONG recovery. She cannot play soccer until mid May at the earliest, right around graduation.
Spent her senior year on the sidelines cheering her high school team on, taking stats, and their number one fan!
She has been so dedicated to her recovery. PT is strong, back at CrossFit gym doing most things modified and mastering her pull ups! Getting stronger every day!
She has good days and bad days as expected! Wondering if her dream of playing college soccer would even still happen. Not only being on a college soccer team but actually playing, scoring goals, warming up, putting on uniform, getting sweaty, cheering her team on and having that bond and connection with like minded people!
Idea…
Her favorite club coach moved back to Wyoming to coach college soccer. He has gone above and beyond to connect her to colleges, guide her in responding to text messages and emails and has given her books to read to help her reach her potential! She has read every book and has followed his guidance with so much gratitude and grit! So I sent a crazy text to him and asked him if he had room for Pressly on his team. He said, heck yes!! My idea was that she could get back into soccer shape and play under her favorite coach and then being that it is a two year college, their focus is transferring kids so then he could continue getting her connected to bigger colleges or if she loves it there she can stay there.
Idea presented to Pressly. Her response, “Wyoming”?? I said, that is what people say about Idaho!
Next was a road trip to watch a game, tour the college, tour the towns and you know what? She loved the small town feel, loved the idea of playing for Rob, and loved the campus and all it had to offer!
The video of her telling Rob she wanted to commit was priceless!
I’m so proud of you Pressly! I write this with tears streaming down my face, I get to still be a soccer mom!!!
