What is the first thing we do when we lose a loved one? We go to the pictures. The every day pictures on our phones, the memories on our social media and of course the professional ones.
Larry was given the terminal diagnosis and he took it with such grace. He was clear on the things he wanted before his final days. I know of a few and I know they were completed and done well! Larry wanted a big ass celebration for his birthday, done! He also wanted family portraits, done! Check, check! I’m sure there are more things but these are the two I am aware of.
One beautiful summer day, we all met in Twin Falls to capture the entire group and some smaller groups…father son, grandpa with grandkids, Belinda’s parents (first time getting professional portrait done, so cool!!), and of course Chris and Belinda’s little family. What an honor to be the one to capture these cherished photos. Yes, they are cherished now but will be cherished for years to come by all left behind.
Larry is in his final days. He is surrounded by the ones he loves and he conquered all of his lasts. For most of our lives we are trying to conquer our firsts and some of our firsts are stupid and some things we never regret. That is life, right? As humans we live and learn but we always gravitate to the things that matter most at some point.
Take those pictures, hug often, don’t hold grudges, and tell people you love them. None of us are getting out of here alive. But we can sure love and live while we are here. Big loves and hugs to the Troxell family as they hold Larry’s hand, laugh and cry until he takes his last breath.
