Ching Family…

February 18, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

If you live near baldy, it must be in the backdrop of your family portrait in the winter!! Am I right??

Carly is one of our “Season Seniors”…she chose to do three sessions and sadly this was her last session. I’m so happy for her as she approaches the end of her senior year but sad our fun together is over. We captured some family portraits at her final session, which I highly recommend. Our original plan to do portraits at their cabin did not work out with all the road closures so we did the second best location, right near their home town. I’m all for the destinations that have meaning. This makes my heart so happy!!

This family came into my life many years ago, what started as their trek every year to come to our Santa Event, turned into family portraits and now senior portraits. But most importantly a beautiful friendship! Love this family and so thankful to be the one capturing their memories.

I know I ask this often, where is your special place? Where would your family portraits take place?

PS. I have always wanted a helicopter to drop me and my clients off at really crazy locations. Anyone up for an adventure. 😉

Snow Session Saturday!! ❄️❄️❄️

It’s been a hot minute since this family was in front of my camera. I have watched these girls grow up since in mama’s tummy and I can’t tell you how great it was to see them!! It was my first time meeting the family dog too! Silly dog that just loves his humans so much!

Including the family dog in family pictures can be a little crazy but with a little patience and a few attempts, it is totally worth it! I almost always get the same reaction when I ask, “do you have a dog that you would like to bring to your session?”
I get a big sigh, a laugh and pretty much a “hell no”. haha I try.

Would you include your dog or dogs in family portraits?

Byron in the winter…

February 16, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

Byron is one of my awesome “Season Seniors”. We captured his winter season in the snow with a few outfit changes, his dog, and a quick family shot that I freaking love. I don’t usually suggest coats for family portraits but this was meant to be a quick shot as they are. Not really any planning. Well shoot! Hot damn, it’s lovely!! The winter session is by far the shortest session due to the cold and it can be hard to walk around without sinking to your waist. At least one leg sinks all the way in. You never know with each step. It really is quite comical!

Byron is quickly approaching his graduation. He has been so fun to work with! He is so quiet and may think I’m a nut but goes along with all ideas! I appreciate that! He has one more session in the spring. In the spring we will capture him in the foothills with his mountain bike. The location is a pretty special place that no one would know about out it unless they like to mountain bike or hike in our amazing foothills. We planned a great year of locations, props, outfits and captured all the changes! Thanks for being so awesome, Byron! Can’t wait to see you follow your dreams after you graduate!

Are you interested in your senior being a part of our “Season Senior Tribe”?? The time is approaching to get on the list! There are two ways to get on the list…
1. click the link in my bio and book a “planning session” for the end of May or beginning of June (make sure you mention Season Senior interest in the comments)
2. DM Kam and she will add you to the list and get a hold of you as it gets closer.

One session to fours sessions! What is your cup of tea?

Blake, Jennifer and the girls…

January 28, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

Of course the “almost three year old” steals the show! But how can you go wrong with this crew!!?? These parents have their hands full with FOUR girls! I know because I have two girls and this just means double the trouble…and love and sassiness as well! Girls are spicy! Love them!!

I had three sessions in the snow on this day and the wind decided to pick up during their session. Oh man it was cold but we accomplished the goal, beautiful updated family portraits! I love how the wind is blowing Callie’s hair in the first picture. Her big brown eyes and that mischievous look! As you can see, all three girls have very different and unique personalities. That’s what makes life so fun! How boring if we were all the same!!

I sure love my time with this family! We met when I did their Little Heroes Session. Not the best circumstances to meet but so thankful to stay connected and watch their family change and grow.

Wilson Family…

Sometimes we get incredibly lucky and have a little sun in the background for a snow session. Sometimes its snowing and sometimes it’s cloudy but you know what? It is ALWAYS magical!

Lots of laughs at these sessions. One reason is you never know when you will step and sink all the way in! We always get a good laugh when that happens.

This family wanted updated pictures of the boys together and of course I love to talk people into updating their family portrait at the same time. I mean, why not??

I had a snow spot open up and these guys grabbed it. We shot for their goals and achieved them! You will see that the last picture is a cluster we created for them to hang on their wall.
I love the story it tells! These pictures put a big smile on mamas face!

I love the planning stages of every session. It is fun to talk ideas and plan accordingly.

Thank you, Wilson Family! I really enjoyed capturing these memories for you! I enjoyed our time in the snow! Cold, but magical!!

Coombs Family…

This family received a priceless gift for Christmas…a gift card towards family portraits!! They have been meaning to update their family pictures for years but as we all know, the years keep going by faster and faster and before you know it you still don’t have family pictures. This was a nice little push to get them updated.

We had a magical session in the snow. Was it cold? Heck yes it was! Was it worth it? Hell yes it was!! The snow on the trees and that beautiful sun peaking over the trees was amazing! Misty seriously did an amazing job with the outfits too!

This session was a reminder of how small our world really is!! We made the connection that our oldest kiddos went to preschool together and now they are both seniors in high school! You guys, this is how fast time flies!! Don’t blink…enjoy the precious present and quit putting off updating those family portraits!

TIMING IS EVERYTHING, THEY SAY. But how do you know when is the right time to hire a family portrait photographer like myself? When I look back on my most successful clients, I see a few key patterns that helped them reach their goals with me. Here’s where they were at when they hired me: they aren’t sure what to wear, not sure where to put updated pictures, and of course they want to lose weight. If you’re reading this thinking, “yes, Yes, YES!”… then you could be ready to take that next step. I help you with your clothes, I have a program that shows you how your portraits look on your walls exact size and also have other keepsake ideas if you don’t have wall space and girl, I can pose you and photograph you at angles that will shed that weight off in camera! Send me a Direct Message and let’s see if we’re a match to work together.

Chandler-Younce Family…

I gained this beautiful family from a referral of another local photographer! If that isn’t a compliment, I don’t know what is! They get their family portraits updated every year but this year was a little different…they have a senior! We were able to get some senior portraits and family portraits all at the same time!

Kai and Sami are on the Boise High Mountain Bike Team so I get to see them more than just once a year for family portraits. Of course this year was different and didn’t happen. They have both improved so much and they are both a pleasure to be on the trails with. I’m hoping for Sami’s senior year next year that we get a mountain bike season. It’s an incredible program for 6th-12th grade, all races are on different mountains in Idaho and everyone is camping! It is the coolest event and so organized.

You can sure see their personalities in these images. They are silly and kind and we always have a good time. Our first attempt in the snow was up at Bogus the week prior to this session and it was so windy and cold we rescheduled to my favorite snow picture location. It was worth it!

I’m not sure what season Sami will choose next year for her senior portraits and of course a few family shots but I do look forward to it!

Jordan Family…

Yay! I can finally share their family images! First of all, best Christmas present ever…gifting updated family portraits but man it’s hard for me to be patient and wait to share until after the holidays!

Do you know this fun crew? They really are fun and funny! Jenni is hilarious. I love her social media posts. Always makes me laugh. Her daily humor should win an award, no really!!

I have had the pleasure of working with Byron for two of his “Season Senior” sessions. We snuck in some family shots at his fall session. I always recommend updating family pictures at senior sessions. Who knows when you will all be together again after your senior graduates.

As you can see, their dog fits right in. I’m sure he thinks he is a “hooman”. Not a bad dog to have. Animal lovers really do spoil their animals but as my husband reminds me, our animals spoil us! True!

We have a few more sessions and then graduation. So many emotions with this chapter in life. I have a senior as well so I know all the feels Jenni and Josh are feeling. Proud and sad! Slow. Down. Time.

Do you have a senior that still needs senior portraits? I’m happy to help. I have very, very simple options in the studio and/or studio yard (to make mom happy) to a few of your seniors favorite locations. Let’s make a plan!

Thank you, Jordan family!

Fineman Family…

This beautiful family was referred to me by another photographer years ago. I sure love working with them. They are fun, kind, outgoing and willing to try just about any idea.

This year we recreated a few shots from years ago. I have to say recreating photos has been one of my favorite things to do recently! It brings up some good belly laughs!

Love this little family! We have always done their pictures in the fall but we have agreed to try some snow next year. I can’t wait for the to have their first snow session!

I do suggest you update your family portraits in different seasons. The beautiful part of Idaho is having four seasons and all are amazing in their own way.

What is your favorite season? 👙🍁❄️🌳

Jenn & family….

January 2, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

This proud mama is so good at getting her family portraits done! She updates them almost yearly. She truly loves and appreciates capturing her memories and relationships.
I am honored that they choose to be in front of my camera. This time there was a new face in their tribe and it made my heart so happy to see Jenn in such a good place.
Jenn is one of the hardest working people I know and has some of the most well behaved kids I have ever met! It is a true dream to photograph Jenn and crew!

We have done portraits in every season, not just seasonal weather but seasons of life! We have laughed a lot and even cried a bit!

Are you due for family portraits? Has it been a nagging thought? Do you just need to make the call/text/email to get started? How can I help?
