Colton in the gym…

March 19, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

Colton’s last session of his Season Senior experience was at the gym. Taking pictures of someone doing what they love makes my heart so happy! I also love the gym so understanding my surroundings helped make for some great shots. We worked together on different movements he likes to do and also fun lighting situations. We went for the black and white grunge look and I must say these are some of my favorites! Thank you for all your amazing sessions, Colton! I’m excited to see where your adventures take you!

It is now time to start talking about your 2024 graduates! I know, scary stuff! Deep breaths, mama! I highly suggest you set up a planning session for late May, early June for 2024 seniors so we can talk about all the options and make sure your senior gets the locations/dates/times that best suit their personality. Planning sessions are held in my North End office, you and your senior need to attend and the meeting takes about 45 minutes or a bit longer if we are planning multiple sessions/locations. This is a no obligation meeting but a great way to go over all the details and see if your senior is a one session type of kid or multiple session type of kid! And if you kiddo is giving you a hard time about pictures, they usually get excited at the planning session. Bribe them with a coffee or something to get them to the first step. πŸ˜‰

Enzo in the snow…

March 19, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

I’m sure all the seniors are saying, “Alexa, skip to graduation!” Enzo is one of our Season Seniors and his winter session was awesome! I’m shocked he is a senior as he has literally grown up in front of my camera and at the same time so proud of him. I look forward to your spring session, kid! Keep shining that amazing smile and enjoy these last few months of your senior year! See you in April!

The days are long but the years are short…blink, blink…and you ask yourself, how did we get here? Anyone else feeling this? I asked myself this when my oldest was a senior and then moving her into her college dorm and now my youngest is a senior and I am asking myself this again! We will be moving her into her dorm at the end of July. Please check on me in August, ok???

With this said…it is now time to start talking about your 2024 graduates! I know, scary stuff! Deep breaths, mama! Tia in the snow…

March 16, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

When your winter session in Idaho looks like you are on a big iceberg in Alaska! Ok, I might be a little dramatic with that comment but it kind of does, right?!!

Tia is one of our Season Seniors with only one more session to go! It is so bittersweet. I get to know these kids and see them change in front of my lens and then bam, they graduate and move on in life. I’m so thankful I get to be a small part of their journey though.

This location I had sought after for years. Finally pulled the trigger and tried it out and it did not disappoint. Thankful my husband brought his avalanche shovel to build stairs in the snow/ice to get down to the water and thankful everyone was up for an adventure. I guess you know that when you book with me, we most likely will find an adventure.

See you in the blooming orchards next, Tia! Thanks kid!

Colton in the snow…

March 14, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

Colton is one of our Season Seniors. He did a summer session on the bridge and lucky peak (can you recall his long, thick, wavy hair?), he did this winter session with a lot of fun looks and that cool buzzed cut leopard printed hair and then I do have one more to share of him in the gym (one of my favorite sessions yet). All super rad sessions. All very different but what I notice the most is how much he has changed from June through February. Colton is the perfect example of how much kids change through their BIG milestone year. Their hair, face shape, build, and confidence to name a few.

Colton has a style of his own that shines through in all his pictures. That is what we are doing, capturing these kids, who they are, at this milestone year in their life.

Thanks so much, Colton for being adventurous and being YOU. I have had a blast at all your sessions. I can’t wait to see what your future holds, kiddo!

Jaxon in the snow…

Jaxon got a true winter session I tell ya! It was beautiful and we were crazy but I love how his images turned out! Jaxon is one of our Season Seniors and he is getting so close to graduation day! So crazy! Jaxon has one more session at the baseball fields in April or May and he is done celebrating and documenting his BIG milestone year.

Maddie Winter Session w/ Family…

March 10, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

The result of making it happen! No easy task when you have kids out of the house/out of town, split homes, busy schedules and then the dreaded task of finding outfits for everyone.

Maddie is one of our Season Seniors and her winter session was chosen to update family portraits. This session was amazing! I mean, look how well the dog behaved! awwwww, we all love a little puppy dog!
“I wanna pet that dawg”
How do I get the dogs to look at the camera you ask? Well, I can tell you but then I’ll have to kill you. Okay, just kidding! I make this horrible and embarrassing monkey noise but anything for the shot, right? πŸ˜‰

I’m always encouraging the updated family shots because I truly believe in them. I also have one child graduated and one days away from graduating and I know that the older the kids get, especially after they graduate high school, it is so freaking hard to get everyone together for a family portrait!

I can’t wait to hang these portraits on their walls! Freaking gorgeous and no doubt will put a smile on their face every time they look at them!

Maddie…one more session, kid. Where did the time go!?? See you in the blooming orchards next month.

Abriel in the snow…

March 5, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

Abriel is one of our Season Seniors! She chose winter and spring and I must say this winter session was exceptionally magical! Stunning girl, beautiful dress, bubbly bubbles, smokin’ snowboard, cool sunglasses and amazing light! Let’s not forget that cute lil’ puppy!
I have had the honor of photographing Abriel and her dog each year at our annual Little Heroes fundraiser event. So when I got the call they were interested in senior portraits, I was pretty honored!

Abriel and her mom came in for a planning session to learn about all the options and decided to book. At that time we talked about what we wanted to cover at each session, how many outfits, outfit guidance, and they went home with some homework. I always send people home with homework: send me pictures of their walls & send me pictures of outfits as it all helps with my planning. We worked closely together to plan the details of this session.

The session was an hour-ish long. The first picture is actually a combination of two pictures. We couldn’t quite get the shot I had in my mind so I took one of Abriel and then took some of the dog and combined the two shots I loved together.

I look forward to Abriel’s spring session. We will do family portraits at that time as well. I was thinking winter is over but I see more snow in the forecast so if you are thinking you want that winter look, it’s not too late!

Bailey in the winter…

Bailey girl…I felt like although this session was short, your personality came out in full force! I loved every minute of it! I think you would agree that it “wasn’t that bad” as far as being cold and was fun to get some winter outfits of layers and beanies and a vest! Of course I had you lay in the snow, tummy and back, and of course you have a crop top because well duh, it looked so cute and that is what is in style, it still wasn’t that bad! You look stunning little snow princess! Thank you for playing in the snow with me!

Your next (and last😭) session is in the Tulip Fields. Bring that fun personality again! I look forward to it!

Well hello there snow princess! This was literally a “snow” session. Not only were we in the snow, but it was snowing pretty hard! Pretty magical really! Aubrey was a rockstar though as you can see! I love her outfits, and I mostly love her personality shining through all of the images! Aubrey is one of our season seniors and now 3/4 of the way through her sessions. Crazy! She is well on her way to graduation day! Thank you for being fun and adventurous, Aubrey! See you in the spring!!

Colton in the Summer…

February 26, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

Summer vibes! Who is ready for summer?

Colton loves to jump of bridges, so that is what we captured! I am personally afraid of heights so you can say I was pretty nervous even watching him climb the tippy top of the bridge and back flip off! We had the drone going and the camera. And I mean, why not add some smoke bombs! He pointed to a spot I could climb over and be on this platform edge to take pictures and I was like, hmmm, no thank you! Like literal butt pucker moments you guys!

Colton loves to shop at thrift stores, likes the downtown vibe, and the bluebird is a significant symbol in the Anson family.

I love his summer session. I love the lighting, the significance of the locations and that we were able to capture Colton with his amazing curly locks! Colton has changed so much between the summer before his senior year to smack dab in the middle of his senior year. I’m honored I get to capture him during his BIG milestone year.

We are capturing him in a gym setting next! I look forward to it! Thanks for the awesome sessions, Colton! See you soon!
