Fineman family in the snow…

March 16, 2023 by admin Leave a Comment

So thankful for the referral of this amazing family years ago! Each year we update this beautiful family and each year we aim for a new location.

With illnesses and bad weather we rescheduled to this beautiful day! No coincidence here! It was meant to be! We were blessed with fresh snow in the valley, happy kids and cooperating pets!

All the colors, the depth, the textures…oh my! Of course the kids gave mom and dad a hard time about getting pictures “again” but they all had fun and don’t let them tell you differently. They had hot chocolate, held hands, played ring around the rosie and threw snow. Nothing but smiles this day!!

Always an honor to photograph these guys! Always belly laughs and so fun to see these kids literally grow up in front of my lens. Thank you, Fineman family! I got to hang a beautiful canvas cluster of these images in their clinic, Paramount Animal Care. So if you take your pet there, you will see these images in print! My favorite!

Are you ready to get family portraits?

Anson Family…

Anyone ready for the blooming trees, green grass, sun on the skin and toes in the water?

This beautiful family is an example of a gorgeous spring, leading into summer session! I’m not sure how I missed sharing these beautiful faces last year, but I did! But how perfect to share now on this warm spring day in Boise today! I mean, after all there are the 12 seasons of Idaho and may opinion on what season we are currently in below. #funnynotfunny

Winter
Fool’s Spring ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒท
Second Winter
Spring of Deception
Third Winter
Mud Season
Actual Spring
Summer
Hell’s Front Porch
False Fall
Second Summer
Actual Fall

Hang in there friends and enjoy every season because it will be over before we know it. I am going to enjoy winter at least one more weekend photographing seniors and families in the snow. Snow in the mountains all week! So beautiful!

But if you are looking to get spring photos, it’s time to start planning. I personally think spring photos in Boise are May through June. And then of course in April we will be in the tulip fields in Oregon. So many options! Let’s talk!

Hirschey Family…

Some really great people right here!!

Tyler contacted me to do pictures asap of him, his amazing wife and their two dogs. One of their dogs, Zoe is an older dog and having some medical issues that were scary and so they wanted to capture their little family as soon as possible in case sweet Zoe was no longer around. My suggestion was this location and they were a little hesitant since their dogs LOVE water but it turned out perfect!

I absolutely love how their images turned out and can’t wait to hang their portraits next week! They decided to move in the spur of the moment and so after they peaked at their wall portraits (at their old home) they can’t wait to get me in their new home to hang them! I can’t wait to see them! They can’t believe how amazing they look printed! I hear that all the time and I kinda love it!

Tyler is my awesome contact at Kendall Ford. I haven’t shared (other than my insta stories), so I’m sure a lot of people don’t know but last year I picked up my dream car, 2021 Ford Bronco. I dreamt, saved, and conquered this dream last year with the help of Tyler (and Neil). I LOVE my Bronco. I didn’t know I was a car person until I got this! With that said, I have it as a screen saver on my phone (my kids are jealous it is not of them), and I also have a Bronco Badlands Face on my Apple Watch (check out the Facer app for cool faces for your Apple watch). During their photo session, Tyler says, “you are such a dork”. I actually knew exactly what he was talking about! The face on my Apple watch! I am a total dork! I agree, Tyler! ๐Ÿ˜‚ But I LOVE MY BRONCO!!
Don’t worry kids, I love you way more! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tim & Christine w/ sweet baby Sylas…

March 15, 2021 by admin Leave a Comment

Kids are grown up and moved out, so Tim and Christine are empty nesters with a puppy! Yes, this big boy is a puppy!

Amazing how time flies! I met Christine many years ago when I took pictures for PAL. Remember them? Are they still around? This session was such a beautiful, respectful way to capture the bond of husband and wife. Best of friends, loyal companions. I have so much respect for this.

I loved working with these two and hope to capture their entire crew next year in the snow. There is just something magical about the snow. Do you agree?

I photographed my last sessions in the snow last night. It’s bitter sweet but how lucky are we to have four seasons in Idaho? Every season has it’s own kind of beauty.

We are booking out this year and truly only have a handful of dates left for evening spring sessions. We have started booking mornings at some locations.

What season are you planning on updating your family portraits?

A boy and his dog…

A boy and his dog…

Remington and family received some very bad news last week about their dog, Ventress. Ventress has cancer! They are going to do what they can to keep her comfortable and live the best life she can until they can’t.

Jane knew she needed to get pictures of her son with his dog and noticed I was offering mini sessions in the box. We had some openings and we got them in quickly. I’m with Jane, let’s not wait and get pictures, lets get them done as soon as possible in case something happens and there are no regrets.

Our pets are family and they just don’t live long enough!! Don’t you agree?? One day they are puppies and kittens and the next minute they are no longer around. I still think of my first baby dogs, Kobe and Bailey. I still miss them and they have been gone for 8+ years. Remington, I’m so sorry for the recent diagnosis of your dog. Feed her lots of peanut butter or whatever treats she loves, give her lots of loves and enjoy her as long as you can. Thank you, Ventress for loving this family! You are loved puppy dog!

โ“โ“What was your first pets name? My first pet as a child was a dog, Buddy. My first “child” was Kobe (Siberian Husky) and Bailey (Newfoundland).

Family in the foothills…

May 14, 2019 by admin Leave a Comment

This crazy crew is one of a kind amazing! If you know this family, you know what I am talking about. It has been fun getting to know them. We met seven years ago when all our kids were in BYRDS. Then swim team in the summer where the kids swam in circles, yes, a circular pool! haha And nowย Carolynย is one of my favorite mountain bike buddies. We typically see eachother on the trails or in Hyde Park for a beer. Either location, we always have fun! It only seemed appropriate to capture their family in the foothills where they love to be. It was a perfect spring evening, beautiful people and a beautiful backdrop!

Puppy love…

I am honored to take portraits of every litter from the loving breeder. We try to do a theme with each litter and this theme did not disappoint! Oh goodness! The lion was a favorite but they really all were so cute in their own way. They are going to their “fur-ever” homes soon. What a great way to end the week!

Saying Goodbye is so hard…

January 21, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

I was honored to be asked by another photographer to photograph their family, in their home, with their kids and dogs. It was a beautiful morning on January 13, 2015. We had wonderful natural light coming in the windows as this family snuggled their dogs before they had to say their final goodbye’s on January 16, 2015. Maddox and Abby have been a very big part of this family. Maddox had bone cancer and Abby had muscular myositis and complications from the treatment resulting in liver failure. Thank you Jussel family for trusting me with your memories!
