Little Heroes…
My name is Lindsey. I am a 33 year old wife and mom. My 5 year old son is the light of my life.
Cancer is something I never thought I would have to walk through.
My journey started in January of this year. I was having pain in my upper right side and thought it might be my gallbladder. I was in pain for a few days so my husband took me to the emergency room. They performed an ultrasound and a CT scan. The scans showed a large mass on my liver. The ER doctor referred me to another doctor and they quickly had me scheduled for a biopsy. The mass came back as cancerous.
My diagnosis was stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma which is a rare form of liver cancer. We were shocked and devastated at this news. I am young and otherwise healthy.
I am currently undergoing 6 months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. After the 6 months of chemotherapy, I will continue on with immunotherapy. My body is tolerating the treatment well, which is a blessing. Even though this is an extremely scary situation, I believe that God is carrying me through. I have an extremely supportive husband and family which I am so thankful for. I truly appreciate your prayers.
